A Chiropractors Guide to CBD
Chiropractors and health & wellness professionals everywhere are becoming curious about the benefits of CBD. Some read about CBD in industry journals, come across its effects in popular media, or are asked about it by their patients.
Curious about what CBD oil can offer your chiropractic practice? We outline CBD oil and its benefits below to help you decide if you want to offer CBD oil to your patients.
Incorporating CBD oil into your sessions with patients can be an innovative way to make them more effective.
Additionally, CBD oil products are one of the most exciting new ways to help your patients maintain their wellness in between sessions.
WHAT IS CBD OIL?
Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the most exciting restorative compounds available today, and consumers worldwide are discovering its wellness benefits.
CBD is a cannabinoid, a class of over 100 chemical compounds present in the cannabis plant, including marijuana and hemp. Found in the cannabis plant’s flowers, seeds, and stalks, CBD can be extracted from the plant as part of its cannabis oil.
This oil can then be processed into a number of CBD supplements that can be used to boost wellness and the body’s ability to maintain balance. When CBD oil is extracted from low-THC hemp, the resulting products are non-psychoactive and safe to use by everyone.
HOW CAN I USE CBD ON MY PATIENTS?
These CBD oil products can be given to patients to help them achieve wellbeing by promoting proper sleep, appetite, metabolism, immune response, and more.
When CBD oil products are used, plant-based cannabinoids or phytocannabinoids like CBD are absorbed by the body where they make their way to the bloodstream and are transported throughout the body to interact with special cannabinoid receptors in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
The neural communication network that uses these cannabinoid neurotransmitters, known as the endocannabinoid system, plays a critical role in the nervous system’s normal functioning.
Endocannabinoids such as anandamide and 2-AG function as neurotransmitters, sending chemical messages between nerve cells throughout the nervous system.
Phytocannabinoids mimic the roles of the body’s endogenous (naturally-occurring) cannabinoids like anandamide and 2-AG. CBD and THC’s chemical structures are similar to those of 2-AG and anandamide, allowing us to use them to manipulate the endocannabinoid system to achieve beneficial effects in the body.
Serve A Veteran distributes its line of hemp-derived CBD oil products as supplements, following all Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines for marketing dietary supplements. Because of this, we are unable to make medical claims about products. Instead, we refer medical professionals like yourself to the wealth of research regarding the effects of CBD available online.
CBD oil products come in a variety of consumption types, such as capsules, tinctures, topical salves, vaporizers, pure hemp oil oral applicators, and more. These daily use products provide all the benefits of CBD with none of the worry over THC from other medical marijuana products.
BUT IS CBD LEGAL?
Hemp products, including nutritional supplements, are legal in the U.S. as long as they are manufactured using imported hemp.
Hemp is defined in the U.S. has any cannabis plant containing 0.3% THC per dry weight or less. At these levels, the THC in hemp-derived CBD oil products is far too low to produce psychoactive effects in humans.
Because our products are derived from low-THC hemp, they are federally legal in the U.S. and in over 40 countries internationally. However, we suggest you check your local laws to see if CBD oil products have any special restrictions where you have your practice.

Pure CBD Hemp Oils:
Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ (RSHO™) is our CBD hemp oil in its most unadulterated form. A thick, viscous oil, RSHO™ contains high levels of CBD, up to 120 mg, as well as essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and other trace cannabinoids. Perfect for those looking for the highest concentration of CBD in their supplement, RSHO™ is available in 3 labels (Green, Blue, and Gold) and provides a high-CBD hemp oil supplement with minimal processing.
While our RSHO™ pure hemp oil is our most potent products, our tinctures are our least potent. Made with the same hemp oil as our other products, our tinctures are mixed with vegetable glycerine or medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil to give them a thinner consistency and lower overall strength between 1 mg and 10.5 mg per serving.
RSHO™ and Dixie Botanicals® all feature tinctures in their brand. While RSHO™ tinctures are unflavored, Dixie Botanicals® offer all-natural flavors like vanilla, cinnamon, and peppermint, in addition to an unflavored option.
Our RSHO™ brand also carries a line of liquid supplements. RSHO™ Liquid is made by combining our pure hemp oil with MCT oil for a mid-potency product that combines the benefits of pure RSHO™ hemp oil with the ease and portability of tinctures.
Because RSHO™ Liquid is made using sustainable coconut and palm oils, it can easily be added to your favorite foods and beverages or taken on a spoon.
Several of our brands (RSHO™ and Dixie Botanicals®) also offer our CBD hemp oil in capsule form for unrivaled ease and portability. It is easy to slip these hemp oil capsules in among your daily vitamins without much change to your day.
For customers with a preference, RSHO™ capsules come in Green, Blue, and Gold Labels, contain 25 mg of CBD each, and are combined with 200 mg of calcium and 200 mg of our proprietary blend of powdered turmeric root and white willow bark for added botanical effects.
Dixie Botanicals® and Cibdex® also offer similar 25 mg CBD capsules, but without the turmeric root or white willow bark.
Designed for external use, CBD hemp oil topicals are a popular option among customers new to hemp oil supplements. Rubbed into the desired area, topicals are absorbed into the skin for localized benefits and never make it into the bloodstream.
RSHO™ CBD hemp oil salve offers 50 mg of CBD per jar. Elixacure Roll On Pain Reliever offers 100 mg of CBD per roll on plus Willowbark. Massaged into the skin, muscles, and joints, these topicals combine full-spectrum hemp oil with ingredients like beeswax, camphora essential oils, and cedarwood and lavender oils to revitalize muscles and nourish the skin.
IS CBD SAFE FOR MY PATIENTS?
CBD is considered to be safe and non-toxic for humans, even at high amounts. A research paper titled Safety and side effects of cannabidiol explored this subject.
To further ensure the safety of our products, we extract our oil using safe supercritical CO2. We examine our oil at three points in our manufacturing process as part of our Triple Lab Tested™ standard to ensure consistency and protect our end users from any potential contamination.
Once our hemp oil is certified to be safe, our formulators in San Diego infuse our oil into our complete line of CBD hemp oil products. California has some of the most rigorous safety standards in the world. Our commitment to these lofty standards allows us to create only top quality finished products for your patients.
